Maud E. Baker, daughter of H. A. and Alice Baker, was born at Jefferson, Greene county, Iowa, March 9, 1878, and died at her home in Randall Sunday, October 4th, 1914, aged 36 years, 5 months, and 25 days, death coming after a sickness of about eight months of goitre.

She was married in Eagle Grove in 1895 to Mr. Asabel [Aschel] E. Morgan, lived in Eagle Grove eleven years, moved to Fonda, Iowa, in 1906 and to Randall in 1913 where the family has since resided. Three children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Morgan, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. Mildred Manley, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Harry B. and Wayne E. Morgan of Randall. Beside the husband and children Mrs. Morgan is survived by both of her parents, and one sister, Mrs. Carrie M. Salisbury, of Seattle, Wash.

Funeral services were held last Friday. October 9th. Brief services were held at the home in Randall and the body was taken to Eagle Grove where services were held at two o'clock. Rev. Van Cleve officiating. The body was laid at rest in the Eagle Grove cemetery. Pall bearers were E. Kittley, M. Spangler. H. Spangler, S. Wilcox, A. Wilcox, and S. Pate. There were many beautiful floral offerings from neighbors and friends in Randall, Eagle Grove, Fonda, Woolstock and Webster City.

Relatives attending the services from a distance were Mrs. C. Salisbury of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. C. Jaqua of Hinton, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. E. Morgan of Ottosen, Iowa, Mrs. and Mrs. E. Slocum, of Scranton, Iowa, and Mrs. H. Wickware of Lisbon. N. Dak.

The following eloquent tribute to Mrs. Morgan's memory is paid by a friend who had come to know her well and esteem her very highly in her comparatively brief residence in Randall:

"Mrs. Morgan was of a sunny disposition and she always had a pleasant welcome for all who called on her. A few hours spent in her company was always a pleasure and I found that she always had in her heart a place for Jesus. Though not a member of any church, she truly loved and served her savior.

CARD OF THANKS
We wish to thank our kind friends and neighbors for the kindness and sympathy shown during the sickness and at the time of the death of our dear wife and mother and for the beautiful floral offerings. We feel very grateful to all.
A. E. MORGAN and CHILDREN
