Arvid Eugene Bauman

Arvid Eugene Bauman was born on September 13, 1928, the son of Joseph and Maude Shillington Bauman in Woolstock Township, Wright County, Iowa. He received his education in the Clarion School System and graduated from Clarion High School in 1946. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Hamer of Woolstock on July 1, 1950. The couple farmed the first seven years of their marriage prior to his employment with M & M Livestock Company from 1957 until 1969. He then went to work in construction until his retirement in 1993.

He entered the Clarion Health Care Center on June 5, 1995. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove.

Arvid Eugene Bauman died on July 29, 1995 at the Clarion Health Care Center at the age of 66 years, 10 months and 16 days. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Bauman of Eagle Grove; children, Greg Bauman and his wife Mary of Danvers, Illinois, Jeff Bauman of Waterville, Minnesota, Annette Barrett and husband Brad of Ames, and Neal Bauman and wife Donya of San Antonio, Texas; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant grandchild, Andrew Barrett; and one sister, Elaine Flannery.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 1, 1995, at the First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove. The Reverend Bill Kemm officiated the 10:30 a.m. services and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa. Willim Funeral Home Ltd. of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
