Glendale, Arizona --- Betty R. Babcock, 71, formerly of Ankeny, IA, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2005, at the Dobson House Hospice, Chandler, AZ. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

She was born January 25, 1934, the daughter of George and Mildred Rowe of Gowrie, Iowa. On January 3, 1953, she married Louis M. Babcock of Eagle Grove, Iowa. She retired in 1991 from U.S. West (Qwest). Survived by her husband, Louis; a son, Mikel (Bock) Babcock of Ft. Dodge, IA; daughters, Georgeann (Steve) Darell of Flower Mound, TX, Jacqueline (Joe) Hamel of Pleasant Hill, IA, Lisa (Matt Enloe of Tucson, AZ, and Karla (Todd) Grimm of Des Moines, IA; seven grandchildren; and sister, Wanda (Gene) Smith of Gowrie, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mildred Rowe of Gowrie, IA; sisters, Donna (Stan) Hewitt of Bakersfield, CA, Bonnie (Jim) Sullivan of Gowrie, IA; and infant brother, Donnie.
