CLARA LOIS BELL
Clara Lois Reed was born December 13, 1903 on a farm west of Belmond. She. was the daughter of
Edwin and Clara Boughton Reed. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth and graduated from the Belmond High School in 1923. After High School, she was a teacher in the area rural schools.

On March 28, 1925, she married Burdette Bell, Sr. at the home of her parents near Belmond. After they were married they farmed north of Clarion. In 1939, they moved to a farm near Woolstock until they retired and then moved to Clarion. Mr. Bell died on February 24, 1984. She remained in Clarion until 1986 when she moved to the Crestview Apartments in Webster City.

Clara Lois Bell, 90, of Webster City, died Wednesday, October 26, 1994 at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City.

She is survived by her daughters, Leona Gaster and her husband Don of Clarion; Eleanor Gray and her husband Orville of Stanhope; Veda Hartman and her husband Carl of Virginia, Minn.; Iris Hightower and her husband Bedell of Ft Smith, Ark.; sons, Donald and his wife Claria of Norwalk, and Burdette, Jr. and his wife Sherrill of Webster City; 17 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and five sisters.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a life member of the United Methodist Women.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 29, at the United Methodist Church of Woolstock and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. Rev. Marlene Brown and Rev. Richard Morris officiated. The Willim Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of arrangements.
