RUTH E. STECHER
Ruth Evelyn Odland was born August 22, 1905 on a farm north of Holmes. She was one of five children of Nels and Rachel Dorsett Odland. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth and graduated from the Clarion High School in 1924. She then took teacher's training at Ellsworth College in Iowa Falls. On October 1, 1930 she married Karl M. Stecher at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. After they were married they farmed near Holmes and Goldfield until they retired in 1981 and moved to Goldfield. Her husband died November 3, 1982. She remained in Goldfield until she entered the Clarion Area Health Care Center in 1988.

Ruth E. Stecher, 89, formerly of Goldfield, died Tuesday, October 25, 1994 at the Clarion Area Health Care Center.

She is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, Mae and Myrtle and two brothers, Earl and Norris. She was a baptized and confirmed member of Holmes Lutheran Church.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 28, at Holmes Lutheran Church and burial was in Holmes
Lutheran Cemetery, rural Holmes. Rev. Carlton Shaw officiated. Willim Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of arrangements.
