Ella Melissa Larson Keena
9 July 1880 --- 20 Apr 1958

Ella Melissa born to Torkel and Helen Shirley Larson, July 9, 1880 near Fonda, died at Schultz nursing home, Eagle Grove, April 20, 1958. On November 18, 1909 she married John Thomas Keena at Clarion. He died in 1949.

She lived at Eagle Grove for several years before and after her marriage. In recent years she lived with her niece, Miss Helen Oleson of Webster City and has been in poor health for several years. She returned to Eagle Grove about a month ago for special nursing care.

She is survived by a daughter Dorothy, Mrs. John L. Smith, of Clarion, and by a sister, Mrs. Cora Hunter of Fonda. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband John, a sister Iva Oleson of Webster City and two brothers, Ira Larson, and Horace M. Larson.

Funeral services were conducted at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church, Kenneth R. Torvik pastor, Wednesday at 2. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Keena was a long-time member of Evangelical church but never realized her desire to see the new one year old church building from which she was buried.
