Oscar Nelson
1 March 1890 --- 14 June 1958

Oscar Nelson was the son of Ulrick and Jennie (Nelson) Broffel [Ulrick Nelson and Jennie (Gordon) Broeffle]. He was born March 1, 1890 in Eagle Grove, Iowa and passed away Saturday, June 14, 1958 at the age of 68 years, 3 months, and 13 days. He was married to Grace Olive Younglove January 12, 1916. His wife preceded him in death on February 28, 1957.

To this union was born 4 children. They are Mrs. Carroll L. Warner (Maxine) of Spencer, Iowa; Mrs. Raymond H. Sheets (Marjorie) of Goldfield, Iowa; Mrs. Harry L. Askvig (Elinor) of Eagle Grove; and Morse Wayne Nelson of Clinton, Iowa.

He worked as a boilermaker for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad for 21 years. He retired in 1956.

Survivors include his four children, eight grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Stella Pohlman of Eagle Grove and one brother Roy Nelson, Omaha, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by two brothers Elmer and Frank and two sisters, Mrs. Mae Fisher and Mrs. Daisy Mosher. He was a kind and loving father and will be deeply missed by his family, many friends, and relatives.
