Alice Evangeline Kelling Peterson was born July 8, 1906 in Renwick, Iowa to John George Kelling and Gertrude Allison Beedle Kelling. She attended Teacher's College in Iowa and taught for two years in country schools in Iowa. On December 30, 1926 she was united in marriage to William Benjamin Peterson, son of Nels and Fredericka Peterson. To this union were born five sons and two daughters.

Bill, Alice and their family, resided in Harvey and Chicago, Illinois for many years, and then moved to Demotte, Indiana. There they attended the American Reformed Church where Alice was active in teaching Sunday School, Bible Study groups, and Daily Vacation Bible School. With her pastor's wife, she started a mission project working with the poor and underprivileged families and young people. After living in Indiana for 41 years, they moved to Eagle Grove, Iowa and later to Springfield, Missouri where her husband, Bill, went to be with the Lord. In 1991 she moved to San Antonio, Texas to be near her son Robert. She was a member of Wayside chapel and was blessed being a part of the wonderful Wayside Widows group of this church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William, two sons, Milton Karl, and Donald Keith, and brother Cecil. She will be greatly missed by three sons and their wives, Robert and Nadene, San Antonio, Texas, Charles and Arlene, Seattle, Washington, David and Toby, St. Cloud, Minnesota and two daughters, Mary Ann and John Pruis, Springfield, Missouri and Karen Peterson, Seattle, Washington, daughter-in-law, Arlene, Holland, Michigan; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Neese, Grants Pass, Oregon and Frances Lowery, Jacksonville, Florida; three brothers, Kenneth and Donna Kelling, Ankeny, Iowa, Harold and Bev Kelling and Gene and Alice Kelling, Hayward, Wisconsin; many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Her prayer is that each of these precious families and friends will search their hearts and know without a shadow of doubt that the Lord Jesus is their Savior and Lord. God grant that this prayer be answered- To God be the glory, Amen.
