Bruce R. Askelsen, 70, of Boone, Iowa passed away at the Boone County Hospital in Boone on Monday, April 26, 2021.

Bruce was born on March 3, 1951 in Fort Dodge, Iowa the son of Kenneth and Evelyn (Johnson) Askelsen. He graduated from West Union High School in 1969 and then enrolled at Iowa State University. After attending Iowa State Bruce was a farmer and landscaping consultant. He was a member of the Master Gardeners and loved to spend time in the garden and share all of the knowledge that he had about gardening with others. Bruce also loved the farm and everything associated with it.

Bruce is preceded in death by his father Kenneth Askelsen.

He is survived by his son Colin (Stacy) Askelsen; mother Evelyn Askelsen; granddaughter Camryn Askelsen, and grandson Clayton Askelsen.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
