Jorgine Larson Brown
26 July 1844 ---- 16 November 1924

The community was saddened Sunday to learn of the death of Mrs. John C. Brown, 80 years of age, who has been a resident of this city since 1890. Mrs. Brown was a kind and loving home maker, revered and respected by all and the sympathy of everybody is extended the bereaved relatives.

Jorgine Laurence, a daughter of Lars and Helene Larson, was born July 26, 1844 in Farsund, Norway. She was married to John C. Brown in 1871. They came to America in 1881 and lived in Jewell, Iowa until 1890, when they came to Eagle Grove. Eight children were born to them. Two died in infancy and those remaining are James, George, and Gusta, of Eagle Grove, Harry of Clarion, Iowa, Mrs. Edeth Olson of Bricelyn, Minn, and Fred of Dilworth, Minn., who with their sick father, feel the loss of a dear Christian mother and a faithful wife.

Mrs. Brown was a much devoted Christian and went to her reward Sunday morning, Nov. 16, 1924. She was buried from the West Side Lutheran church Tuesday, Nov. 18th. Rev. G. O. Paulsrud of Randall, Iowa, Rev. Harry Sunner of Soldier, Iowa, and the local pastor spoke.

Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
