Fred William Brown
23 September 1879 ---- 4 May 1933

Funeral services for Fred Brown, whose death occurred May 4th in Dilworth, Minn., were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wilson funeral chapel. Services were held on Saturday, May 5th at Moorhead, Minn., in charge of Rev. C. Ylvisaker. The services here were in charge of Rev. H. S. Fauske. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery.

Obituary

Frederick William Brown was born in Oslo, Norway, Sept. 23, 1879, and at the age of two years came with his parents to this country and settled in Jewell, Iowa. His parents were John and Jorgine Brown. The family moved to Eagle Grove from Jewell in 1800. Here he attended Eagle Grove schools and later Jewell college, after which he entered in the employ of the C. & N. W. Railway Co. until about 1910, when he went to Dilworth, Minn., and entered the employ of the Northern Pacific R. R. also as switchman, where he worked until he passed away May 4, 1933, at the age of 53 years, 7 months, and 11 days.

He is survived by two brothers, Harry Brown of Clarion and Geo. Brown of Eagle Grove and two sisters, Mrs. Edith Olson of Story City and Miss Gusta Brown of Eagle Grove.

His parents preceded him in death about eight years ago and his brother, James Brown, Oct. 20, 1933.
