February 18, 1902 --- January 10, 1985

Harlan B. Jotten, 82, died at the Clarion Community Memorial Hospital shortly after being admitted on Thursday morning, January 10. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. William Perkins officiating. Burial was in Norway Township Cemetery and the Eyler-Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Edward Engstrom was the organist and Mrs. Bernie Case the vocalist. Bearers were: Kenneth Duitscher, Joel Janson, Harold Naefke, Carroll Burras, Robert Amosson and Howard Hughes.

Born in Wright County on February 18, 1902, he was the son of John and Minnie Thompson Jotten and received his education in Wright County. On December 2, 1925 he was married to Gladys Amosson at Kanawha. They farmed in Norway Township for many years. She died in 1958 and for the past 10 years he had made his home at the Clarion Care Center.

Survivors are two daughters: Mrs. Dennis (Helen) Wilhelm of Goodell and Mrs. (Marvel) Lester of Milaca, Minn., six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two sisters; Mrs. Mabel Storsund of Des Moines and Mrs. Alice Armour of Eagle Grove. His parents, a sister and a brother preceded him in death. Mr. Jotten was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
