Martha (Olson) Olson
11 June 1876 ---- 11 August 1930

Mrs. Martha Olson was born on June 11, 1876 at Hoiekvam, Sandeid, Norway and died at Mercy hospital in Ft. Dodge, Ia. Aug. 11, 1930, aged 54 years and 2 months. She came with her parents in 1883, at the age of 8 years, to Eagle Grove, where she attended school and was confirmed in the Eagle Grove Lutheran church. On Dec. 1, 1894 she was united in marriage to Ole F. Olson and has since resided on their farm in Norway township. Seven children were born to this union: Mrs. Sadie Riley of Eagle Grove; Mrs. Nora Peterson of Goldfield; Joseph of Kanawha; Mabel; Florine; Melvin; and Irene, who are at home. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren and four brothers and two sisters, John Olson of Fowler, Mont., Edwin Olson of Ames, Joseph Olson of Jewell, Edwin Olson of Windsor, N. Dak., Mrs. Selma Sorenson of Clemmensville, N. Dak., and Mrs. Mary Lawson of Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, Aug. 14, from the home and St. John's Lutheran church, with burial at Rose Hill cemetery, Eagle Grove.
