Lewis Evanson Walker
9 July 1861 --- 26 November 1930

Lewis Walker was born in Olen, Norway, July 9, 1861 and died in Eagle Grove, Iowa, Nov. 26, 1930, age 69 years, 4 months, and 17 days. Lewis came to the United States with his parents in 1870 to Slater, Iowa, where he grew to manhood, and in 1886 he came to Wright county which has since been his home.

Lewis was baptized into Christ in infancy and later learned to know by personal experience the grace of God in Christ. His faith in God was childlike. He accepted the Word of God just as he read it in the Bible. He was of a pleasant temperament, always satisfied. Even during his last sickness when the pains at times were very severe, he never complained. He was sick about three weeks but passed away peacefully at the home of his brother, John, on West Broadway.

Lewis never married and is now survived by three brothers and one sister, Andrew E. Walker of Eagle Grove, Amos Walker of Des Moines, Mrs. Carrie Berg of Eagle Grove, and John Walker of Eagle Grove. Together with a large number of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Nov. 29, from the John Walker home at 1:30 and from the Eagle Grove Lutheran church at 2 o'clock. Burial was made in the Rose Hill cemetery.
