Funeral services for Mrs. Avis Lentz, 64, formerly of Dows and more recently Eldora, were held at the Presbyterian Church in Dows Tuesday, December 12, 1978. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery at Dows. Mrs. Lentz died Saturday, December 9, 1978 at the Eldora Hospital after an apparent heart attack.

She was born March 25, 1914 in Dows, the daughter of Jess and Lucy Maryhew Stewart and was raised and educated in Dows. In 1931 she was married to Colen T. Rhodes in Clarion. That marriage ended in divorce and on October 14, 1940 she was married to Marvin Lentz in Minnesota. She moved to Eldora in 1970 and has lived at their present address up until the time of her death.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin; one son, Merlyn Rhodes of Urbandale; two sisters: Mrs. Cecil (Donnabelle) Silvey of Dows; Mrs. Mark (Marjorie) Squire of Burbank, California; two brothers: Richard Stewart of Hampton and James Judson of Clarion. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Willim Funeral Home of Dows had charge of the arrangements.
