Mathilde Frederikka Martin Solberg
1 March 1885 --- 19 May 1925

Mathilda Frederikka Martin was born March 1st, 1885 near Stoughton, Wis., and died May 19, 1925 at Webster City, Iowa, aged 40 years, 2 months, and 19 days. Her parents moved from Stoughton to Leland, Ill., where Mathilda grew to womanhood. At Leland she was instructed and confirmed by Rev. J. H. Stenberg.

Dec. 18, 1907 she was married to Bennie Solberg at Ottawa, Ill. They have lived on the farm all their married life, some of the time in Illinois, some years in Story county, Iowa, and some years in Wright county, Iowa.

She leaves to mourn her unexpected death; besides her husband and four sons, Claremont, Bernard, Orville, and Carroll, one little son having passed away ten years ago, her aged mother, the father having passed away two years ago.

She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Johnson, Mrs. Hulda Johnson, and Mrs. Hendrickson, all of Leland, Ill., also five brothers, Chris Martin of McFarland, Wis., Axel Martin of Leland, Ill., Carl Martin of Stanhope, Iowa, Gail and Amos Martin of Leland, Ill.

Mrs. Solberg had been sick about seven weeks and passed away at the hospital in Webster City, where she had been taken for treatment.

The body was brought here for burial according to her request. Funeral from the East Side Lutheran church Thursday afternoon, May 21.
