Olive Malene Solberg
26 June 1887 --- 6 February 1929

Olive Malene Solberg was born on June 29, 1887 at Freedom, Ill. and died at Mercy hospital at Ft. Dodge, Iowa Feb. 6, 1929, age 41 years, 7 months, and 8 days.

Olive made her home for many years near Freedom and Baker, Ill., then moved with her family to near Solberg, Iowa, later the family lived near Avoca, Minn., coming to Eagle Grove., Iowa, in the spring of 1918, where she has since made her home.

She was an exceedingly faithful and dependable character, willing and pious. She was therefore always found serving in places and homes where a capable and responsible person was needed. She served one year in a children's home in Stoughton, Wis. For several years, she has now served in the motherless home of P. B. Hovland, where she will no doubt be missed most of all.

She was taken seriously ill about a week before she passed away. Last Sunday afternoon she was taken to the Mercy hospital where she underwent an operation for intestinal adhesions and obstruction and passed away last Wednesday morning.

Her parents and four brothers and sisters have passed away before. She now leaves one brother, Clarence Solberg of Hanley Falls, Minn., together with a number of near relatives and a large number of friends. Burial [Rose Hill Cemetery] Saturday afternoon from the East Side Lutheran church.
