Marion Evans
17 October 1885 ---- 16 August 1955

Popejoy - Marion Evans, 69, resident of Dows and Popejoy vicinity since coming to this country from Norway at the age of two years, died Tuesday morning at Mercy Hospital in Mason City. He had become ill just a week earlier, when he was hospitalized.

Funeral services will be held Friday from the Popejoy Methodist Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Dows.

Mr. Evans was born October 17, 1885 in Oslo, Norway, son of Mr. and Mrs. Inglebrit Evans and came to the Dows vicinity with his parents in 1887.

He was married June 17, 1914 at Alden to Miss Ruby Moore and they continued to make their home on farms in the area south of Dows.

Surviving Mr. Evans are his widow; six children: Mrs. Ernest Anders of Iowa Falls; Robert of Chicago; Burl in service in Cuba; Glen of Lee township; Myron, who was expected home from service in Korea Wednesday and Mrs. Delmyr Gregg of Montevideo, Minnesota.

Mr. Evans was a member of the Lutheran Church in Dows.
