Albert Evans
28 June 1889 ---- 29 October 1977

Funeral services for Albert Evans were held Monday afternoon from the First Lutheran Church in Dows. Military and graveside rites at Fairview Cemetery were conducted by the Dows American Legion. He died on Saturday, October 29, 1977 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City where he had been a patient since Monday.

Mr. Evans was a lifelong Williams area resident and had lived on the farm where he was born on June 28, 1889 all his life. He was the son of Ingebret and Guldbjor Olson Evans and was baptized and confirmed at the Otis Grove Lutheran Church. He served his country in World War II. On July 29, 1923 he was married to Juanita Elizabeth Sterner at Lorimor, Iowa and she died in July of 1973. For the past several months he had made his home at the Dows Care Center.

He is survived by two sons: Lawrence of Dows and Charles of Derby, Kansas; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Tillie Nelson of Alden and Mrs. Bernice Grey of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and five sisters.

Mr. Evans was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church in Dows.
