Eda Marie Welzien Peyton
25 October 1887 --- 21 August 1949

Eda Marie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris and Elizabeth Welzien was born October 24, 1887 at Klin, Waltersdorf, Germany. At the age of four she accompanied her parents to this country and settled in Dows where she spent her childhood days. She was united in marriage to Jess C. Peyton March 6, 1912 at Clarion. To this union one son, Avron was born.

She has been in failing health for the past several years and Sunday, August 14th she was taken to the Lutheran hospital at Hampton. After suffering a severe heart attack, she passed away Sunday morning, August 21st at the age of 61 years, nine months and 21 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William and August. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband; her son, Avron of Clarion; two grandchildren; two brothers, Henry of Dows and Albert of Marshalltown and one sister, Mrs. Jane Thurman of Janesville, Wisconsin.

The funeral services were held from the Congregational Church in Rowan August 24th at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harold A. Sanders in charge. Interment was made in Fairview Cemetery, Dows.
