Funeral services for Jess Peyton, 90 of Dows, were held Monday, April 24, 1978 in the Willim Funeral Home, Dows. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery, Dows.

Mr. Peyton died Friday morning, April 21, 1978 at the Dows Care Center.

He was born September 18, 1887 on a farm north of Dows, son of William and Sarah Dudley Peyton. He was raised and educated north of Dows.

He was united in marriage to Eda Marie Welzein on March 6, 1912 at Clarion. He farmed all his life on the same farm north of Dows. He was a former member of the Modern Woodsman of America and past director of Blaine School #1.

He is survived by one son, Avron of rural Rowan; one brother, Harry of Dows; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and three sisters.

The Willim Funeral Home of Dows was in charge of arrangements.
