Mabel Angeline Sarber Peyton
17 September 1899 --- 2 March 1978

Funeral services for Mabel E. Peyton, 78 of Dows, Iowa were held on Monday, March 6, 1978 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Dows. Rev. Chet Davis presided. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Peyton was born September 17, 1899 in Thornton, Iowa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Sarber. At the age of eight she moved with her family to Dows where she resided until she was united in marriage to Harry Peyton. They lived in Franklin and Wright counties until 1949 at which time they moved to Riceville, Iowa where they farmed until 1958 when they returned to Dows.

She came to rest at her home March 2, 1978 after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by her husband, Harry; sons, Melvin of Dougherty; Merlin of Clear Lake; daughters: Mrs. Jack (Vivian) Willemssen, Mason City; Mrs. Marion (Maxine) Rice of LeRoy, Minnesota; Mrs. Frances (Doris) Rohrer, Eagle Grove; Lois Hansen of Inglewood, California; Evelyn Mabry, Des Moines; Mrs. James (Connie) Smith, Cedar Rapids; 33 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; four brothers; one grandson and one granddaughter.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Faith Circle and Dows Senior Citizen Club.
