Hannah Heck Kenney
4 November 1849 ---- 16 November 1915

Mrs. Jos. Kenney died at her home in Des Moines last Tuesday, Nov. 16th at 6 o'clock p.m., after an illness continuing through the most of the last year.

The family lived here a number of years owning the Rider residence north of the Baptist church and moved to Des Moines about seven years ago.

The deceased leaves her husband, son, E. M. Kenney, of Des Moines, and two daughters to mourn her loss. She was a sister of Mrs. Swanger of this city.

The remains will be brought here, and the funeral will be held in the Baptist church Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock and the interment will be in Rose Hill cemetery beside the remains of her daughter Zepha, whom all will remember and whose death brought sorrow to so many hearts.

The deceased had many warm friends here who will extend the kindliest sympathy to the bereaved family and relatives.

Hannah Heck was born in the state of Ohio, November 4, 1849, and died at the Kenney home in Des Moines, Tuesday, November 16th.

The deceased was brought to Tipton, Iowa in her early infancy and on January 1, 1873 was married to Joseph Kenney.

To this union were born four children, E. M. Kenney, Mrs. Mabel Speer, Mrs. Hazel Finnegan of Des Moines and Zepha, who died in this city nine years ago.

She also leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, three grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. E. Swanger of this city, and other relatives and friends.

In her early married life, she united with the Baptist church and was always devoted to Christian duty and service. In her home she was a loving wife and a devoted mother and will be sorely missed not only in the saddened home but in a large circle of friends and neighbors.

The funeral was held in the Eagle Grove Baptist church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, which was largely attended.

The interment followed in Rose Hill cemetery beside the remains of her daughter, Zepha.

The bereaved relatives have the warm sympathy of a large circle of friends.
