Anna Clara Kirketeg
16 October 1888 ---- 7 May 1928

Miss Anna C. Kirketeg died at the Deaconess hospital at Marshalltown at 9:30 Sunday morning. She had been ill from heart trouble for over six months and in the hospital twelve weeks. Prior to entering the hospital for treatment, she had made her home with her sister, Mrs. O. L. Evenson, in Marshalltown.

Obituary

Anna Clara Kirketeg was born in Humboldt county, near Eagle Grove, Iowa, October 16, 1888. She was the oldest child of Oliva Kirketeg and Knut K. Kirketeg, both of whom passed away over two years ago.

She attended Jewell college at Jewell, Iowa, later Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Falls, from which college she graduated, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1914. Later she took graduate work at Chicago University and Columbia University, New York.

For a number of years, she taught in high schools of Iowa, one year at Boulder, Mont., and for the past five years has taught in Augustana College, Sioux Falls, S.D.

She was baptized by Rev. Holm and confirmed by Rev O. Anderson. She was a member of the First Lutheran church, Sioux Falls, S.D. She was a member of the order of the Eastern Star, Pi Gamma Mu, Honorary Fraternity and Association of University Women.

She is survived by a brother and two sisters, O. J. Kirketeg of Bedford, Iowa, Mrs. O. L. Evenson of Marshalltown, Iowa and Agnetha Kirketeg of Seattle, Wash.

Since Christmas she has been making her home with her sister at Marshalltown, Iowa, having been in the Deaconess hospital there for the past 12 weeks, where she passed away quietly, at 9 o'clock Sunday morning, May 6, 1928.

Funeral services were held from the West Side Lutheran church. Dr. C. O. Solberg presided. The Augustana college, Sioux Falls, rendered a fitting and beautiful tribute to the life of the departed. Rev. P. J. Severtson also spoke. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery.
