Mrs. Charlotte Lillian Whyte, daughter of Joseph and Mary Olson Richardson, was born on a farm near Goldfield on Jan. 21, 1908. She grew up on the family farm and attended the rural schools and later graduated from the Goldfield High School.

On June 8, 1927, she was united in marriage with Kenneth Whyte at Goldfield. The couple made their home in Goldfield and to this union were born two children, Kent and Marylyn. The Whyte family are long-time members of the United Methodist Church and Charlotte was a member of the United Methodist Women; the Bayview Club and the Oak Ridge Recreation Club, both of Goldfield.

During her life, she made an extra effort to send many cards and to write letters to many of her loved ones and friends, on special occasions. She also loved to play cards with her family and friends.

She died on Saturday, Nov. 26, 1983, at the Clarion Community Hospital in Clarion, where she had been a patient a few days. She attained the age of 75 years, 10 months and 15 days.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Whyte of Goldfield; her son and his wife, Kent and Joanne Whyte of Goldfield; her daughter Marylyn and Paul Wilson of Goldfield; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Raynard Richardson of Kingman, Ariz.; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Larson of Kanawha; Mildred, Mrs. Leo Krips of Pocahontas; Mrs. Evelyn DeWitt of Winterhaven, Fla.; Fern, Mrs. Newton Freeman of Goldfield and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, a sister, Mrs. Jesse Beisell and a brother, Clifford Richardson.

Funeral services for Charlotte Whyte, age 75, of Goldfield, were held Nov. 29, 1983, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Goldfield. Rev. Kenneth Peterson, church pastor officiated and burial was in the family lot at Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield. Visitation was held on Monday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
