Dows - Jens G. Olson, 76, of Dows died Monday, February 22, 1993 at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton of an apparent heart attack.

Services were held Friday, February 26, 1993 at the First Lutheran Church in Dows with burial in Fairview Cemetery.

Jens Olson was born May 2, 1916 to Karl and Bertha Olson at Meservey. As a young man, he lived and worked in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for several years and then moved to Dows to farm with his brother. On December 12, 1940 he married Dorothy Miller in Webster City. In 1949 they moved to their present home northeast of Dows. Jens retired from farming in the early 1980's.

He was a long time member of the First Lutheran Church, past board member of the Dows elevator, Lions Club, Dows Golf Club and the Dows Welcome Center.

Survivors include one son, Larry of Sussex, Wisconsin; four grandchildren and two sisters, Ann Lawson of Oshkosh, Wisconsin and Olive Thompson of Oregon. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Dorothy in 1991, two brothers, one sister and one son.

Elledge Funeral Home of Dows was in charge of arrangements.
