25 July 1944 --- 8 August 1980Dows - Roger Olson, 36, of rural Dows was killed Friday when his car went out of control on a Franklin County road northwest of here. County authorities said the car rolled about 2:45 am, pinning Olson underneath.

Dows - Services for Roger G. Olson were held here Monday from the First Lutheran Church. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery and Willim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Olson died early Friday morning of injuries received in a pickup truck accident.
Roger G. Olson was born July 25, 1944 at Hampton, the son of Jens and Dorothy Miller Olson. Following graduation from Dows High School in 1962 he attended the University of Northern Iowa. He and Carol Kreitlow were married December 9, 1967 and he had farmed with his father. Mr. Olson was a member and a deacon of First Lutheran Church, a past president of the Dows Golf Course, had been secretary of the Franklin County Cattlemen's Association and served with the Iowa National Guard from 1966 to 1972.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Krista and Greg; his parents of Dows and a brother Larry of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
