Blanche Anna Pifer Zimmerman
December 1882 ---- 16 December 1956

Mrs. Henry G. Zimmerman, 74, died Sunday (Dec. 16) at her home in Des Moines. Mrs. Zimmerman and her husband were publishers of the Dows Advocate during the early 1900's. She had been a resident of Des Moines for the past 43 years. Mr. and Mrs. Zimmerman celebrated their golden anniversary recently. Her husband, a son and daughter survive.

Mrs. Blanche Zimmerman, 74, wife of Henry G. Zimmerman, Des Moines insurance man, passed away Sunday morning at her Des Moines home. Cause of death was coronary occlusion.

Born in Eureka, Illinois, Mrs. Zimmerman had been a Des Moines resident for 43 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Beauceant, Chapter 89 of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Cottage Grove King's Daughters, the International Order of the Ladies Blue Goose, the Des Moines Woman's Club and the Cottage Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Zimmerman celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last June 30th.

She is survived by her husband, Henry; one daughter Mrs. R. J. Peterson, Sioux City; a son Charles M. Zimmerman of West Des Moines; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Other survivors include three brothers: Frank and Charles Pifer of Eureka, Illinois and William H. Pifer of Appleton, Wisconsin; three sisters: Mrs. Marjorie Gerber of Long Beach, Mississippi; Mrs. Kathleen Fauber of Roanoke, Illinois and Mrs. Alice Sullivan of Eureka, Illinois.
