Cynthia Vermont Joslin DeLong
9 July 1847 --- 24 April 1933

Dows - Funeral services were held this morning at the home with the Rev. J.G. Waterman in charge, for Mrs. Cynthia DeLong, 85, who died at her home Monday evening. She was born near Richmond, Virginia, July 9, 1847 and moved with her parents to Wisconsin while quite young.

On October 12, 1867 she was married to Elias DeLong. They came to Iowa in 1884 and for 49 years lived in or near Dows.

Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. Dora Locey, whose home is in Des Moines but stayed here this winter and cared for her mother. There are six grandchildren.
