Raymond Jacobsen Dockwell, 78, died Tuesday, July 2 [1996] at Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 6 from the United Methodist Church in Dows. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Dows. Elledge Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Jacobsen Dockwell was born May 7, 1918 on a farm in Franklin County, the son of George and Marie Jacobsen Dockwell. He grew up to manhood in Morgan township where he received his education. He attended Alexander High School until he was needed on the family farm.

On February 11, 1940 he was united in marriage to Inez Marie Hackbarth at the Morgan Methodist Church. Two children were born to this union. Their first five years of marriage was spent in Hampton, running a Standard Oil station and later Harrison Dairy. In 1945 they moved to the farm of her parents in Morgan township and farmed for 28 years. In 1973 they moved to their present farm where Raymond was employed by the Farmers Co-op until his retirement in 1981.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dows.

Survivors include his wife, Inez of Dows; two daughters: Janice Norris and husband Jerry of Dows; Bonita Baker and husband Rich of Clarion; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers: Lyle of Latimer and George Jr. of Belmond; three sisters: Myrtle Gunderson of Rowan; Hazel Lester of Belmond and Gladys Andershock of Loveland, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Clara Ann Jensen and Velma Thompson.
