John Collins Diltz
17 March 1889 --- 23 June 1969

John Collins Diltz, 80, died Monday morning at the Holy Family hospital. He was born March 17, 1889 at Troy Mills, Iowa. His parents were George and Rebecca Diltz.

He received his education at Troy Mills. He was married in 1911 to Maude Bailey in Clarion, Iowa. They lived at Dows, Iowa Falls and moved to Estherville in 1925 where he was a conductor on the Rock Island Railroad.

He was a member of the Presbyterian church and Masonic Lodge. His wife passed away in 1944. He married Vera Lesher in 1945.

He is survived by his wife, Vera; two daughters: Mrs. L.C. (Lois Beryl) Heyer of Kansas City, Missouri and Mrs. Joe (Doris Fae) Buckley, Estherville; two step-sons: Richard Lesher of Los Angeles, California and Robert Lesher, Sioux City; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one step-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery at Dows, Iowa.
