EAGLE GROVE EAGLE ---- Eagle Grove, Iowa
Thursday, August 27, 1925

Knut K. Kirketeg was born in Skjold, Norway on Feb. 2, 1856 the son of Knut Kirketeg and Anna Wogan Kirketeg. He came to Leland, Ill. in 1883. From there he went to Story county, Iowa where he lived until he was married to Olena Ostrem at Des Moines, Iowa on Dec. 23, 1887. To this union six children were born, two of whom died in infancy. Soon after their marriage, they settled on a farm seven miles northwest of Eagle Grove, Iowa where they lived until in 1908, when they moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa, where they lived while their children attended college. In 1912 they returned to Eagle Grove, where he lived until death. He was a member of Samuel Lutheran church.

He passed away at St. Mary's hospital at Rochester, Minn. On Monday, Aug. 24, 1925 at 4:30 p.m., at the age of 69 years, 6 months, and 22 days. He is survived by his wife, Olena, his son Ole, and his three daughters, Anna, Mrs. Jennie Evenson and Agnetha, his son-in-law Orville Evenson, and grandson Richard, also by a brother Olaf Knutson of Omaha, Neb., and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Thorson, Eagle Grove, Iowa, Mrs. Maria Jenson, Litchfield, Minn.; and Mrs. Taleta Ohm of Wats, Norway.

Mr. Kirketeg was one of Wright county's prominent and respected citizens. He had faith in this community and owned property both in the city and in the country. There is genuine regret that death won out in his long fight for life. The sympathy of his friends and neighbors is extended the sorrowing relatives in the hour of their great loss.
