Karl Nelson died at Mercy hospital at Des Moines about 6 o'clock Tuesday evening. A ruptured appendix caused his death. The remains were brought to Eagle Grove for burial but as we go to press, final arrangements have not been made.

Mr. Nelson was a brother of Mrs. Verne McIntyre and Mrs. C. M. Baker. Mrs. Nelson was well known here as Tressie Thebiay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Thebiay. The Nelsons moved to Des Moines about four years ago where Mr. Nelson was employed by the O'Dea Motor Co.

Brief mention was made last week of the death of Karl Nelson which occurred at Des Moines last Wednesday. The remains were brought to Eagle Grove and funeral services were held at the Peter Sadler home on West Second Street North, Friday afternoon at two o’clock. Rev. Haney had charge of the service. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mr. Nelson had been a resident of Eagle Grove from 1898 until about four years ago, when he moved to Des Moines, where he continued in the employ of the O’Dea Motor Company. He was born near Dows, Iowa Nov. 26, 1886. On Feb. 7, 1911 he was united in marriage with Miss Tressie Thebiay of Eagle Grove, who survives together with the father, seven sisters and one brother. The sisters are Mrs. C. M. Baker and Mrs. Verne McIntyre of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Clara Cousins of Spirit Lake, Mrs. Lottie Broeffle, and Miss Mildred Nelson of Minneapolis, Miss Ida Nelson of Chicago, Miss Nancy Nelson of Des Moines. One brother, Arthur, lives in Kansas City. The father, Alfred Nelson, resides in Eagle Grove. Mrs. Nelson died April 2, 1911.

Karl Nelson was a quiet, faithful, and efficient mechanic. His friends regretted his move to Des Moines and all his acquaintances mourn his death and extend the surviving relatives their sincere, heartfelt sympathy.
