Beverly J. Morgan, 89, of the Marshalltown area, formerly of Webster City, Iowa, passed away on Sunday morning, February 21, 2021 at UnityPoint Health in Marshalltown. Per the wishes of Beverly, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no formal service. Mitchell Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Beverly and her family.

Born Beverly Jean Gangestad on December 6, 1931 in Goldfield, Iowa, she was the daughter of Joseph Helmer and Violet Mae (Griffith) Gangestad. After graduating from Webster City High School, she went on to receive certification to be an administrator and medication aide at the local county home.

Beverly fell in love with Merle E. Morgan and they were united in marriage on her 18th birthday, December 6, 1949 in Fort Hood, Texas. Together they resided primarily in Webster City, where they raised their family. Beverly loved anything to do with crafts and hobbies and opened her own store called “Bev’s Hobby Hutch.” She never met a stranger and would help anyone who needed it. Beverly also enjoyed crocheting and reading.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Vickie (Darrell) Harrington and Theresa Jackson and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Merle; daughter, Deborah Morgan; son, Dennis Morgan and her brother, Helmer Gangestad.
