Irene A. Jass Ingebritson
August 4, 1908 --- June 25, 1997Irene A. Ingebritson, 88, of Dows, died at her home in rural Dows on Wednesday, June 25, 1997. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 28, from the First Lutheran Church in Dows. Reverend Stan Peterson officiated the 11 a.m. service. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Dows. Elledge Funeral Home of Dows was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Rella Fanselow was the organist and Mr. Don Bosch the soloist. Casketbearers were Rick Ingebritson, John Ingebritson, Mark Nessa, Marshall Nessa, Jeff Grant, Craig Ewing, and Steve Allen.
Irene A. Jass Ingebritson was born on a farm near Owasa, Iowa, on August 4, 1908, the daughter of Charles and Martha Bartz Jass. She received her education in Owasa and later in Dows, where she graduated in 1926. After graduation, she was employed by the Bill Laughlin family in Dows. On March 2, 1936, she and Floyd Ingebritson were united in marriage at Dakota City, Nebraska. After their marriage, they farmed around the Iowa Falls, Williams, and Ellsworth areas until moving to their present home in rural Dows in 1947. Floyd died on October 14, 1991, and Irene remained on the farm until her death.
Survivors include two sons - Duane of Dows; Marlyn and wife, Marilyn of Dows; one daughter -Alice Grant and husband, Milford of Webster City; nine grandchildren; eight grand-children; and one sister - Grace Polzin of Popejoy. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; three brothers; three sisters; one daughter, Carole; and one infant grandson.
