Dows - Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Coombs, 75, who died at the Lutheran hospital at Hampton Monday, January 2, were held Wednesday afternoon, January 4 at the First Methodist Church. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

Clara Hartman, daughter of Wilfred and Lena Hartman, was born February 13, 1880 at Zearing. At the age of 12, she moved with her family to Eagle Grove and lived in Wright County for the remainder of her life.

She was married to John Coombs on May 27, 1899 at Galt. They lived in a number of places in Wright County and in 1918 moved to the farm home north of Dows.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1945. Children include: William (who died in infancy); Ralph of Dows; Blanche (Mrs. Vern Dawson) of Dows and Ina (Mrs. Arthur Muhlenbruch) of Dows. Surviving her in addition to the children are a sister, Mrs. Wensel Butzer of Good Thunder, Minnesota; a brother, Don Hartman of Salom, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
