Bertha (Scott) Boughton Skow
27 March 1886 ---- 1 February 1980

Mrs. Bertha Skow, 93, died Friday Feb. 1, 1980 at the Rotary Ann Home, Eagle Grove.

Bertha was born on March 27, 1886 at Jefferson, Iowa to Andrew and Edith Scott. She attended school at Jefferson. In 1930 she married Arthur Boughton of Eagle Grove. Mr. Boughton died in 1954. In 1956 Bertha was united in marriage to Julius Skow of Emmetsburg. They made their home in Eagle Grove. Mr. Skow died in July, 1960. Mrs. Skow moved to the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in September of 1971. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Eagle Grove and also the Rebekahs.

Survivors are: two step-daughters, Mrs. Harry (Hazel) Beecher of Webster City, and Mrs. William (Ella) Phillips of Des Moines; one sister, Grace Wakeman of Fort Dodge. Preceding her in death were her parents, two husbands, four brothers, three sisters, and one stepson, Kenneth Boughton of Britt.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 4 at 1:30 p.m. at Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Reverend Charles Dutton officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
