James Charles Watson
25 February 1891 ---- 4 August 1977

A former Eagle Grove resident, James C. Watson, 86, died Aug. 4 at Springfield, Oreg. where he and his wife had resided since his retirement. For many years he owned and operated a dry cleaning business in Eugene, Ore. He was a veteran of World War I and served in France.

Mr. Watson was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Watson, long time residents on West Broadway, Eagle Grove. He is survived by his wife, one brother, Cecil of Newton, and a sister, Mrs. Wanda Maggitt [Meggitt] of Iowa City. He was an uncle of Tommy Watson, Mrs. Betty McCaulley and Hazel Watson Belick [Bilek] of Eagle Grove. His parents, four brothers: Fred, Jesse, Ovid and Glenn, and one son, Meredith, preceded him in death.
