Emily Grace (Norton) BRACE
March 17, 1881 ---- May 18, 1970

Mrs. Grace Brace died Monday, May 18, at Bethesda General Hospital, Fort Dodge where she had been a patient for a few days.

Funeral services were Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in charge of Rev. Arthur W. Anderson, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Brace is survived by one son, Hubert of Lombard, Ill., one sister, Mrs. Mae McPherran of Elmhurst, N. Y., two grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Mrs. Brace had been a resident of the Rotary Ann Home for some time. Her husband, Stanley Brace, a former employee of the Chicago and North Western R.R. died in 1964. Mrs. Brace was a member of the Baptist Church, Royal Neighbors, Ladies Auxiliary of the B. of R.T. and the Spanish American War Veterans Auxiliary.

Obituary
Emily Grace Norton was March 17, 1881, at Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of Giles and Sarah Wade Norton. She attended grade and high school there in Toledo. On August 20, 1900, she was united in marriage to Stanley Brace at Toledo, and lived in Tama, Iowa before coming to Eagle Grove in 1902 to make her home.

The young couple became the parents of a son, Hubert, now living in Lombard, Ill. Mr. Brace was employed by the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, and had retired prior to his death in 1964. Prior to her death, she was a resident of the Rotary Ann Retirement Home. She entered Bethesda General Hospital eight days prior to her death on May 18, at the age of 89 years, 2 months, and 1 day. In addition to her son Hubert, she is survived by two grandchildren: Frances Berhart, Lombard, Ill.; and Carol Marvin, Fullerton, Calif.; six
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and one sister, Mae McPherran, Elmhurst, N. Y. also survives. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Zoe Barkman.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 20, at 2 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, with the Rev. Arthur W. Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. She was a member of the Baptist Church, The Royal Neighbors, The B. of R. T. Auxiliary, and the Spanish American War Veteran Auxiliary.
