Retired C.& N. W. Conductor Dies At Age Of 88

Stanley Brace, 88, died Saturday evening at the Mathre Nursing Home where he had been a resident for several weeks. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Kastler Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Church of the Baptist church officiating. Military rites were conducted at the grave side.

Mr. Brace is survived by his wife who is a resident at the Rotary Ann Home, and one son, Hubert of Glen Ellyn, Ill. Mr. Brace was a long time employee of the Chicago and North Western Railroad and retired as conductor in 1940. Mr. Brace was born in Independence, Iowa, but had lived in Eagle Grove for 65 years. He was a veteran of the Spanish American War, and member of the Masonic Lodge. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
