Obituary

Erling J. Hill was born to Joseph and Christine Hill, February 13, 1874, at Strand, Stavanger, Norway, and passed away at his home near Eagle Grove, Iowa, May 23, 1925 aged 51 years, 3 months and 10 days.

He came to the U. S. A. to Aurora, Ill., in 1892, where he worked for four years, after which he came to Holmes, Iowa. The 7th of March, 1900, he was married to Carrie Isabella Johnson. To this union were born eight children. Mrs. Jemima Nelson of Eagle Grove, Ia., Mrs. Harriet Johnson of Ft. Dodge, Ia., Clifford, Georgia, Orville, Pearl, Gaylord and Melbourne, at home.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, the eight children and 2 grandchildren, Fern Johnson and Clarice Nelson, also his aged mother.

Mr. and Mrs. Hill lived at Holmes about eight years and then they moved to Gorham, N. Dak. where they lived about ten years. In 1918 they moved back and have lived near Eagle Grove since.

Mr. Hill has been failing for two years or more. He trusted in Christ for full salvation.

Funeral services were Monday afternoon from the home and the East Side Lutheran church.
