Peter Johnson, 63, passed away at his farm home east of Eagle Grove Sunday morning. He had finished doing the morning chores, came into the house, collapsed and in five minutes time he passed on.

Peter Johnson was born January 3, 1875, at Rowe, Ill., to John and Gudrund [Gudraad] Johnson, and was baptized in infancy in the Lutheran church at Rowe, Ill.

In 1883 he moved together with his parents to Hardin county, Iowa, and two years later moved to Wright county where he was occupied with farming until his death. He passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 18, 1938, at his home five miles east of Eagle Grove, at the age of 63 years, 11 months and 15 days.

On September 12, 1906, he was married to Wilhelmina Worra of Holmes. To this union was born one son, James.

His parents and two brothers, Sam Johnson of Belmond and Ole Johnson of Clarion, have preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Wilhelmina Johnson, and his son James, who is at home on the farm, by three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Hill of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Jennie Gunderson of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Mary Amdahl of Holmes, and by two brothers, Joe Johnson of Thor and by Bert Johnson of Beifield, N. D.

Mr. Johnson was a good and loving husband and father, a friendly and helpful neighbor, a law abiding and dutiful citizen. He will be greatly missed by his family and by his many friends in this community and church.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at the home and at the Holmes Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. H. S. Fauske. Interment was in the Holmes cemetery.
