Funeral services for Melbourne H. Clark, 69, were held Saturday afternoon at the United Methodist Church in charge of the pastor Rev. Donald Glazier. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Clark died Thursday at the Rotary Ann Home infirmary which he had been a patient for two weeks. He had been seriously ill for some months and hospitalized previously in Iowa City and Fort Dodge.

He formerly was employed at the Wilson Funeral Home and was also an interior decorator. He is survived by his wife; one son, Harlan Clark of Minnetonka, Minn.; two grandchildren. Other survivors are one brother, Harold Clark of Pine, Colo.; and two sisters, Mrs. Stephen Woolsey, Waterloo; and Mrs. Kenneth Banford of Seattle, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Clark and one grandson.

Melbourne Harlan Clark was born April 6, 1906, the son of Bert and Jessie Lasure Clark, at Eagle
Grove. He was educated in the Waterloo, Iowa, schools. He was united in marriage to Lela Losee of Waterloo on May 31, 1927 at Waterloo. Mel was a linoleum and carpet layer until 1947 when he underwent surgery, which forced him to give up this work. The family moved to Eagle Grove in 1947 and Mel engaged in the interior decorating business. He retired from this about a year ago and semi-retired at age 65.

Mel died at the Rotary Ann Home, Eagle Grove, on Thursday, May 15, at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 9 days. He is survived by his wife; one son, Harlan, Minnetonka, Minn.; one brother, Harold Clark, Pine, Colo.; two sisters, Eloise, Mrs. Stephen Woolsey, Waterloo and Wilma, Mrs. Kenneth Bamford, Seattle, Wash.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.

Mr. Clark was a member of the United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Donald Glazier officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
