Funeral services for Donald L. Rummel of Clarion were held in the Chapel of the Eyler-Willim Funeral Home on Saturday morning, May 26, 1979 at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Lynn Ryon of the United Church of Christ Congregational was the officiant and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Casket bearers were George Bukema, Robert V. Nelson, Gene DuKate, George Egybroad, Richard Douglass and Michael Marvets.

Donald Rummel was born at Dows on October 21, 1900 and was the son of L. W. and Ella Milnes Rummel. He died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion on Wednesday, May 23, 1979. He had been at the hospital since Monday evening.

He was raised and educated at Dows and lived there for many years and served as the Town Marshall. During World War II he served with the U. S. Army. For the past several years he had made his home in Clarion. He was active in the A.A. & C.B. groups of the area and was a member of the American Legion Post 245.

A niece, Emogene Grandstaff of Britt and a nephew, Floyd Rummel of Saratoga, Wy. survive. His parents and two brothers, Floyd and Harley, preceded him in death.
