DOWS, IA. – Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church for Mrs. Rena Gladys Echelberger, 61, of Dows who died Wednesday at University Hospitals at Iowa City following a lingering illness.

She is survived by her parents, husband, a daughter, two granddaughters, six brothers and two sisters. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph Echelberger, 61, of Dows were held Saturday, July 22 at 2 o'clock at the First Lutheran Church in Dows. Rev. Craig Ausie officiated. The Van Hove Funeral
home was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in the Fairview cemetery.

Rena Gladys Echelberger died Wednesday, July 19, 1967 at Iowa City. She was a lifelong resident of Dows.

Born December 15, 1905 she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed I. Evans.

On November 11, 1927 she married Joseph Echelberger of Dows.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed I. Evans of Dows; a daughter, Mrs. Borge Evans (Lucille); six brothers, and two sisters also survive; Alvin and Carl of Dows, Mendil of Waterloo, Kenneth of Fox Lake, Ill.; Ernest of Morris, Minn.; Ed L. of Longmont, Colo.; Edna, Mrs. Lewis Kehlmetz of Chicago, Ill., Myrtle, Mrs. Gordon Hanna of Forest City and two granddaughters. One brother preceded her in death.
