Wilmer James Rompf

Funeral services for Wilmer J. Rompf, 56, of 1440 20th St., West Des Moines, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 23 at Westover Funeral Home, West Des Moines, followed by burial at 2:30 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.

Mr. Rompf, a brother of Mrs. Marjorie Groves, died April 20 of cancer at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. A native of Eagle Grove he was a vice president and attorney for Aid Insurance Company for 25 years. He was a graduate of Drake University Law School and lived in the Des Moines area the past 35 years. Rompf was a veteran of World War II and a past president of the Iowa Tennis Association.

Rompf is survived by his wife, Audrey B.; three sons, William J. of Oklahoma City, Okla., Dr. Jonathan R. of San Jose, Calif., and Thomas D. of Des Moines; one daughter, Nancy Joann Springer of Reno, Nev.; a step-daughter, Pam Nagel of Des Moines; one sister, Marjorie Groves of Eagle Grove, and four grandchildren.
