Mrs. Minnie M. Ackerman, 89, of Dows died Monday afternoon at the Hampton Nursing Home, where she had been a patient since February of 1972. Funeral services were held on Thursday morning at ten o’clock from the Willim Funeral Home in Dows. The Rev. W. O. Niles, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiated and burial was in the Fairview Cemetery at Dows.

She was born on a farm in Vernon township on September 8, 1883, and was the daughter of Henry and Mary Behrens Kahler. She received her education and grew to womanhood in the area of her birth.

On December 24, 1901 she was married to Pierre (Peter) Ackerman at Galt, where they lived until moving to Dows in 1919. Mr. Ackerman died in 1960.

Mrs. Ackerman is survived by two sons, F. H. (Pete) Ackerman of Dows and Kenneth Ackerman of Rowley. She is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and two brothers and one sister.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian church.
