Donna Rae Boll, 60, of Dows, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 26, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 29, at Vernon Lutheran Church, rural Dows. Rev. Paul Thompson officiated the 11 a. m. service. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Dows. Elledge Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Monica Johnson was the organist.

Casketbearers were Steve, Mark, Larry, Chad, Todd, Ryan, Bennett, Troy, Randy, Chris, Nicholas, and Sean Weidemann, Drew and Dane Gengler, and Lance Green.

Donna Rae Weidemann was born February 13, 1939, the daughter of Walter and Mabel Fanselow Weidemann on a farm south of Dows. She received her education in Dows and graduated from Dows High School in 1957. She then attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, for one year.

On November 13, 1971, she and Albert F. H. Boll were united in marriage at Vernon Lutheran Church, rural Dows. After their marriage they made their home in Dows and she worked for the Dime Store and Olson T. V. and Stereo, both in Dows. She had recently been employed by United Bank & Trust, City Hall, and the Dows Library.

She was a member of Vernon Lutheran Church and the Friendly Club in Dows.

She is survived by her husband, Albert of Dows, one son, Michael and wife, Kathy of Dows, one granddaughter; two stepchildren-Stacie Lee Boll of California, and Brian John Boll of Portland, Oregon, seven brothers and sisters-William B. Weidemann of Dows, Dora Sue Smit of Hampton, Jon Weidemann of Angora, Minnesota; Merle Weidemann of Dows; Melvin Weidemann of Dows; Kathy Green of Austin, Texas; and Karen Keller of Papillion, Nebraska.

Her parents preceded her in death.
