Funeral services for Henry W. Hinze, 81, were held from the Willim Funeral Home in Dows on Monday, February 24, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Clyde Sparks of the United Methodist Chruch in Dows officiated and burial was in the Dows Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Hinze died Thursday, February 20, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. He was born in Barron, Wisconsin on December 17, 1904 and was the son of Frank and Ella Sherman Hinze. His mother died at his birth and after the family moved around, he and his father settled in Williamstown, New Jersey.

He was united in marriage to Carolyn Emma Taylor on June 7, 1941. He and his wife moved to Dows in 1982 and they entered the Dows Care Center in January of 1983.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, two sons; Robert of Williamstown, New Jersey, Jay of Dows, two grandchildren; Heather and Scott and two sisters; Hattie Paul of Ft. Edwards, Wisc., and Esther Derr of Freeport, Ill.

His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
