Josephine P. Stewart, 89, of Scottish Rite Park, 2909 Woodland Ave., died of pneumonia Feb. 2 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Scottish Rite Park, with private burial of the cremains in Masonic Cemetery.

Mrs. Stewart, was born in Goldfield and was a teacher before moving to Des Moines in 1928. She had been a member of First United Methodist Church, Des Moines Women's Club and TTT.

Surviving are a son, James, and a sister, Margie Herrick, both of Des Moines; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Scottish Rite Park. Dunn's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
